Dessert & Booze Hacks

I love simple recipes that are fun with few ingredients to do with my son, and that is what I got in Peggy Wang’s Dessert & Booze Hacks, along with some tasty adult treats for my wife and I. Peggy Wang is the founding editor of BUZZFEED, and she has compiled seventy five amazingly simple, fun recipes that are a snap to make and great fun for kids. I cannot wait to get my son into the kitchen to make Cake Batter Rice Krispies and Gummy Bear Popsicles. Two of his favorite things amped up with awesomly fun twists. As for my wife and I with fall approaching but still being warm enough for frozen drinks i think a Frozen Hot Chocolate or a Margarita Shake to re-escape to vacation one last time before the leaves change and temperatures drop. I am truly excited to add this to my collection and share these recipes with my family!

A Jewish Baker’s Pastry Secrets, Review

If you love strudel, stollen, bear claws, or anything made with puff pastry, then this book is for you. It is packed full of wonderful, mouth-watering recipes that appeal to anyone with a sweet tooth. I looked through the book as soon as I received my package. After looking at all the sections and the recipes within the binding of this book I quickly realized that I had received a treasure. The only thing I did not care for was that the book does not have pictures of any of the recipes included in the book. Though there were no pictures included, the book is one I still consider to be a wonderful addition to any bakers collection. I would love to give this book to many family members as Christmas and birthday gifts. I recommend it to anyone who loves to bake or spend time in the kitchen.

A Review of The Career Playbook

As a person who is interested in making it in business I look for interesting helpful books that have useful information for succeeding in today’s business world. I received my copy of The Career Playbook: Essential Advice for today’s Aspiring Young Professional in the mail and immediately began reading it. I took my time reading the book so that I could thoroughly review what the book had to offer and the information in it. The book is split into part one through three, which are labeled How Careers Really Work, How to Get the Job, How to Thrive. Each part is also split into chapters. There are fourteen chapters in the book and each chapter is packed completely full of information that not only useful but gives the young aspiring professional a lot to think about. This is a book that I would save for my son when he is an aspiring young professional.

A Review of The Amazing Make Ahead Baby Food Book

The amazing make ahead baby food book is a great tool for new parent, and all parents of newborn to toddler aged children. Initially I got the book for my wife who is always talking about making healthier foods for our toddler son, and about how when we have another baby she wants to make the baby food at home. So after hearing her talk about it and tell me about what she found online, I decided to get the amazing make ahead baby food book by Lisa Barrangou PhD. Even though i had gotten this book for my wife I decided that I liked the sound of not buying baby food at the store and making it fresh at home. So I sat down and gave it a glance. I really liked that the recipes were simple, had only natural foods and nothing that I couldn’t find in the fresh food section of the grocery store. I also enjoyed that it has recipes for growing kids that are toddler friendly and healthy. This book is a great book to have when planning for a new baby, growing toddlers, and parents trying to get their kids to eat healthy.

A Review of Twenty Dinners

Twenty Dinners by Ithai Schori and Chris Taylor was an okay book. I liked that the book is set up in dinners instead of categories like dinner, dessert etc. Each dinner includes five dishes and a drink selection or recipe. ┬áThere is a wide variety or entree’s, appetizer’s, dessert’s and more. There were also a lot of recipes, that being from the south, just do not sound appetizing to me. I always say I will try anything once so a lot of the recipes that do not sound good to me I will still try, they may end up being the best thing I have ever eaten. With that said, Schori and Taylor’s Twenty dinners was not only aesthetically pleasing with beautifully plated dishes and mouthwatering desserts, it was pleasing to read through and it gives a lot tips and tricks to aid any chef, from beginner to advanced. I am very happy to be able to add this book to my collection, and I look forward to expanding my tastes and trying new things.
